Corporate case study – Shakespeare’s Globe

Shakespeare’s Globe on London’s Bankside, built about 230 meters from the original theatre, opened to the public in 1997. Part of the theatre complex houses a gift shop, which provides an important income stream for the theatre, like many of our museums, art galleries and cultural institutions. We were approached not long after the theatre opened to create a range of gifts that would appeal to visitors and capture some of the essence of Shakespeare’s greatest works.

Working with the Retail Manager, we developed a range of high-quality yet affordable gift items that included book markers, notepads, coasters and a mouse mat, carrying illustrations of the theatre itself as well as well-known characters such as Falstaff, Malvolio, Titania and Bottom, complemented by a flowing script that echoed the handwriting of the great Bard himself.
